Our church secretary is Tish Basham. She came on board in June 2010.  When you call the church on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday morning, she will be happy to help you in any way that she can.

Larry McCallister

Larry McCallister, Sr. has served as pastor of the Dunbar First Church of God since December of 1997.  He was born on April 23, 1948 at Madison, WV, and lived at Yawkey.  He graduated from Duval High School in 1966. 

It was during his senior year that he felt his call into the ministry.  The Ministerial Association of the Church of God in West Virginia ordained him in 1971.  In 1970 Pastor Larry earned his B.A. in Secondary Education at West Virginia State College.  He also is a 1981 graduate of West Virginia College of Graduate Studies (now Marshall University) with a M.A. in Counseling and Guidance. While in graduate school, he was named to the National Dean's List.In 1981 Pastor Larry further became a graduate of International Seminary with a Th.D., along with an honorary D.D.

In 1968 Pastor Larry married Betty Jarrett of St. Albans. God has blessed them with two children: Melissa McCallister Hagan, who is active in the Georgetown, KY, Church of God and teaches Kindergarten and is married to Craig Hagan...they have one child, and Rev. Larry McCallister, Jr., who has been the pastor of the Clarksburg Church of God and pastor of the Lakewood Church of God in Cross Lanes, WV.  Pastor McCallister has served the Church by holding many local, state and national offices over his 40 plus years of ministry.He has served the following churches during his ministry:
